Sol Melia is the leading hotel company in Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean and one of the largest in the world, with more than 350 hotels in 35 countries. The company’s six hotel brands offer a wide array of leisure and business hotels in a variety of destinations around the world, yet all Sol Melia properties share a single goal – to provide its guests with the finest and most luxurious stay imaginable.

The Challenge

To properly communicate the beauty and unique qualities of its individual properties, in 2004 Sol Melia decided to redesign the websites of its more than 350 hotels. It needed a company to handle that type of volume.

After working with them for several years, one of their most iconic brands whats put out to bid and we were awarded interactive agency of record. BOALT launched their flagship property, ME Cancun, then we continued on to create ME Cabo, Me Madrid and other ME brands including all of their corporate website.

The Solution

BOALT had already begun its aggressive plan to redesign all of Sol Melia’s sites. Combining Macromedia Flash animation, high-end photography and impactful copy with a powerful booking engine, BOALT had built an impressive model that will set the standard to all Sol Melia hotels moving forward. Beyond that, BOALT, has also managed all of Sol Melia’s online marketing efforts and display media advertising.

The Results

Depending on the property the results differed, each property specific website was developed with a custom booking engine to managing all their online reservations. The companies cost per booking or acquisition was decreased by almost 45%.
