Increasing Conversion and Usability of an Online Booking Site

Stay Aspen Snowmass is the specialist for creating discounted Aspen/Snowmass ski vacation packages and summer Rocky Mountain getaways for the resort lodging rental properties and Aspen Skiing Company. BOALT was engaged to help them rethink their aging booking process and optimize it to help them increase their conversion rate. BOALT helped redesign their entire website, and spent a considerable amount of time fine-tuning their intricate online reservation process that included many layers of products and package information.

We started the project by doing a deep analysis of their current booking process and cataloging all of the potential pages and interaction points. From there we developed a series of detailed site maps and wireframes to help the client understand some of the recommended changes we proposed to help streamline the booking process and decrease fall-off traffic on their reservations.

Lastly, as a branded measure, even though they’re largely known for winter skiing and snowboarding vacations during the winter months, a large percentage of their revenue also comes from their spring and summer months with hiking, biking and rafting trips. To combat the problem of making their site too focused on a winter sports theme, we developed a dynamic way for the site to be re-themed during the winter and summer months with a dramatic change of the look and feel of the site, while still maintaining all of the same basic functionality.
